I am adding an employee in a new state, what do I need to do to add them to payroll?
Congratulations on your growth and expansion. If you are adding a new state, you will need to go to that state's website (both unemployment and/or withholding) and search for the application to register for ID number(s) for that state. Each state has a different process so this is not a one size fits all. When in doubt you may call the state to ask for assistance in registration. Most state and local agencies now have online registrations making this process easier.
When you have registered for each new agency please forward a copy to us along with the notice indicating the new ID numbers and the rates and payment frequency for us to setup your new state for use in our Online Payroll system.
